About us and why we do, what we do!   

We are Steve & Kym Brown and we started business in 1995 when we started with one Bed and Breakfast after going on our honeymoon in 1991. We purchased our 1st tour vehicle a 48-215 (FX) holden which we still have today (for weddings) in 1999  we won our first tourism award; in 2001 we won the South Australian Tourism Award for hosted accommodation for Treasured Memories and then to our excitement winning the pinnacle, Australian Tourism Award. This was a direct catalyst for us starting Getaways Reservation Service in 2001 and we have been fortunate to have won 6 Tourism awards (one hall of fame for Specialised Tourism Services – 2004, 2005, 2006) and one for Tourism Product Marketing (2003) and have 2 consecutive wins for Specialised Tourism Services in 2009 and 2010, and up for Hall of Fame in 2011.

A major contributing factor we attribute to our success is that we have a dedicated passionate, professional team and the outstanding service we provide. We are tourism accredited and have always entered the South Australian Tourism Awards, this is our preferred way of reassessing the previous year’s achievements and identifying any potential areas of improvement or innovation.

During the Award process a few years ago we identified a niche in the market place and started Tour Barossa, offering Fun, Flexible, Affordable Tours of the Barossa Valley. In our first year we were thrilled to be awarded Silver in New Tourism development in 2009, a significant achievement for one 12 Seat mini bus and testament on how small business can achieve success.

We now own 14 properties(Treasured Memories Accommodation), Getaways Reservation Service employing 6 staff and booking Australia wide and 2 tour buses, 2 Chrysler 300C’s, a Holden Statesman and just recently purchased a Stretch Cadillac Limousine. There is still some very exciting times ahead in the wonderful tourism industry and we hope we can be of service to you.
